Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. They relocated to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five and enrolled in at the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to become an actor when she was just aged six. She studied at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach or school shows before she was ten years old. Casting began in 1999 in the production of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by agents via the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that after eight consecutive auditions Emma and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's debut on screen was Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's release in 2001. It was also the film that was most popular during 2001. The opening weekend and day the sales were record breaking. Film critics praised the film as well as the performance of three leading young actors. The well-known British paper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her outstanding performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress in a Film.
